Executive Warrior – Why Not Sleeping While Hustling Hard is a Bad Idea

Sleep is vital in our lives for many different reasons.

Sleep, they say, enhances our memory. It's a time to consolidate what we learned for the day and process all the emotions we have spent.

But whatever is the fundamental rationale for sleep, one thing remains the same - we need sleep. We need to achieve the right amount of sleep each day if we expect to hustle hard.

If the reasons are not good enough, then it might be time for you to look at the consequences of not getting sufficient sleep.

Here are some of them:

  • Late nights increase the risk of breast cancer.

Many people think that spending nights working shows that they can hustle. However, it's quite the opposite. Because how can you hustle when you are sick with cancer?

  • If you continuously get less than seven hours of sleep, the likelihood of having a heart attack increases.

Your heart weakens due to a lack of rest.

  • Obesity, you may be surprised to know, can also result from lack of sleep.

So, instead of burning the mid night oil - go to bed! It would help you know that by sleeping an extra hour each day, you can lose 14.3 pounds per year.

What do all of these lead to? I'm not scaring you, but your risk of dying increases if you remain stubborn with your sleeping habits.

Now, let's look at the benefits of adequate sleep:

  • Problem-solving becomes a piece of cake.
  • We improve our ability to empathize, making us better persons.
  • Higher IQ.
  • More energy for sex.

Who doesn't want any of these?
